Smylies  seeks to encourage awareness and good practice among its customers, so enabling the Company to play its part in environmental conservation.

In order to enable execution of this objective, Smylies has addressed seven basic areas which constitute the foundation of its environmental policy:

 

(1) Consumption

Management and purchasing policies to avoid and minimise waste, facilitate recycling and minimise the use of materials harmful to the environment will be adopted.

(2) Recycling

Smylies will commit themselves to the use of recycled or part recycled products wherever feasible. They will also commit to recycling as many resources as possible, such as paper, glass, metal, plastic and organic materials, and develop the necessary changes in operations to implement comprehensive recycling practices. Where there are no available recycling Facilities, emphasis will be placed on avoiding and minimising waste.

(3) Pollution

Smylies will use reasonable means, including assistance from local authorities and other agencies, to minimise pollution. As the largest single source of pollution from the operation of vehicles is exhaust emissions, pollution will be minimised through the use of efficient and environmentally acceptable methods of emissions reduction.

(4) Energy Conservation

Smylies Tours will monitor energy consumption and seek to minimise energy usage in its offices. Smylies Tours will seek to encourage use of renewable energy resources and promote projects to this end where possible. 

(5) Transport

Smylies Tours will either source their own or thru its partners fleet the most suitable vehicle for the group size. ensuring the lowest possible GVM or GCM and encourage clients to embrace this vision

 (6) Nature

Smylies will be supportive of the formation of nature reserves, national parks, and other specially designated areas to provide both wildlife habitats and for public recreation.  

(7) Environmental Education

Activities and displays promoting the importance of adopting environmental practices, changing personal habits, and emphasising the individual’s ability to influence change positively will be a featured part of the Smylies experience.
